From Pro Bono Community:
Pro Bono Community works with advice agencies and universities to train students in legal advice and social welfare law before placing them as volunteers at advice organisations. We have trained nearly 1,000 who have gone on to provide pro bono legal assistance to an estimated 26,000 people. PBC has run programmes for universities across London including LSE, KCL, UCL, City Law School, Greenwich University, BPP, University of Law and SOAS. You can see what our partners have said about our scheme here.
We know that many advice agencies this year have had to move their services online and host volunteers remotely; we are happy to assist agencies in the setup of remote placements and share our experiences of remote volunteer management.
We are currently training several cohorts of students from different universities and will be placing them at Law Centres and advice agencies over the next couple months. We’re keen to talk with new potential partners and explore what scope there may be for them to take on student volunteers as part of our scheme.
